Sahi Padhai News

How we report

How our stories are researched, written, reviewed and corrected.

Who writes

Sahi Padhai News is edited by Pravesh Srivastava and published by Sahi Padhai. Some stories are written by the editor; others are written with AI assistance and reviewed by the editor before they are published. Every story written with AI assistance says so at the end. Hindi versions are written for Hindi readers, not machine-translated.

What we cover

New research in artificial intelligence and computing, and news about AI, chips, space technology and drones. We do not cover defence or military topics. Most stories end with a link to a Sahi Padhai lesson or simulator that teaches the idea behind them.

How a story is made

  • Research stories start from a paper, usually on arXiv. arXiv papers are preprints: other scientists have not yet reviewed them, so we report what the authors say they found and say so.
  • News stories start from a primary source: the company, agency, ministry or project that made the announcement. Reports by other outlets help us find stories and are linked when we rely on them.
  • Features are analysis and opinion by the editor.
  • Quick news is a headline and a two- or three-sentence summary of an official announcement, linking to the original so you can read it in full. It has no page of its own on our site.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to find new papers and announcements each day, to summarise them into research notes for the editor, and to turn finished articles into web pages. Some stories, all quick news summaries and some of our diagrams and illustrations are also written or made with AI assistance, working from the sources linked in the story. The editor reviews them before they are published, and stories written this way carry a note at the end.

AI can make mistakes. It can misread a source, mix up numbers, or state something more strongly than the source does. So content written with AI assistance may sometimes contain errors, even after review. Before publishing, we verify every claim and number against the linked sources. When we find an error, or a reader points one out, we make our best efforts to correct it as quickly as possible and update the story, as described under Corrections.

Sources and credit

  • Every story lists its sources, and the first paragraph links the main one.
  • We write in our own words. We quote at most a sentence or two, in quotation marks, with credit.
  • We use our own diagrams, or images whose licence allows reuse, credited under the image.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, whether a story was written with AI assistance or not, we fix it and add a dated correction note at the end of the story, saying what changed. We do not change a story's original publication date. To report an error, or a problem with how we used your work, please write to us through the contact page.
